The Project
A densely developed mix-use complex for South Los Angeles spreads over two urban blocks

The Reef is a densely developed mix-use complex including low, mid, and high-rise residential buildings along with outdoor plazas and terraces intended to create a pedestrian-oriented community. The proposal includes 1.7 million sq ft of new development including residential, hotel and retail components. Located south of the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles, the project is situated at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Broadway Street and occupies the site adjacent to The Reef (formerly LA Mart), a large design center and showroom for the gift, interior design, and home furnishing industries. Because of its central location, accessibility to nearby infrastructure, and amalgamation of old and new, the project has the potential to become a cultural destination, and a catalyst for new social and economic development at the south end of the Los Angeles downtown district.
