The Project
Playful furniture engages the imagination via constant dismantling and assembly

The proposal for a sculptural-modular table aims to facilitate the hosting of special events at the Center for The Art of Performance at UCLA. The table incorporates various types and sizes of reclaimed blackened wood and, through the process of interlocking assembly, can be divided in three independent parts for multiple uses and easy storage. At a micro level, the table is perpetually under construction. Given the creative and artistic mission of CAP, the table is meant to engage visiting artists, donors, as well as board members in a tactile and playful experience where the very material makeup of its assembly is up for rearrangement, discussion, and speculation.
