A playful cascading ensemble of exclusive villas overlooking the Caribbean shore
Our proposal for a luxury resort in Bequia, the second largest island of the Grenadines, consists of 16 villas of various sizes and shapes plus other amenities. The project takes advantage of the site’s dramatic slope directly off the shoreline to create a cascading cluster of informally arrayed masses along a stepped terrace that spills naturally towards the ocean, creating a sense of community among guests.
A lush and yet subtle architecture incorporates tropical lifestyle, enhancing the pristine natural environment and creating an eccentric sense of place. The strange, austere masses with dark wooden texture appear in stark contrast with their natural context, while allowing the adjacent ecosystem to seam naturally with the architecture, which engages and intensifies a dramatic and picturesque site.
